Resumo: A subgroup of the coronavirus family (Sars-CoV-2) was responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic that began in 2020, causing numerous deaths and sequelae in affected patients. The aim of this study was to analyze the most frequent signs and symptoms resulting from the virus infection, as well as its oral manifestations. In this research, 40 patients diagnosed with Covid-19 from a hospital located in the Midwest region of Santa Catarina state were subjected to a questionnaire (electronic or telephone), in which they reported the main symptoms caused by the disease. The results showed that the most common symptoms are similar to those of seasonal flu, with the most recurrent being: fatigue/weakness (85%), shortness of breath (77.5%), muscle aches (70%), loss of appetite (62.5%), headache (55%), fever (52.5%), and cough (50%). Regarding oral manifestations, 27.5% of patients reported the presence of xerostomia, 25% described ageusia, and 12.5% highlighted the presence of ulcers. Since the Sars-CoV-2 virus promotes some oral alterations, it is important for the dentist to recognize and correlate the symptoms presented by the disease, with the help of complementary tests, in order to contribute to its early diagnosis.
