Resumo: A female 8 years old previously diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type I, sought dental care due to tooth pain. She has an inoperable plexiform neurofibroma on the left hemiface involving the masticatory, parotid, parapharyngeal, submandibular, and sublingual spaces. She is under medical follow-up and is awaiting a court decision for the use of Selumetinib, which inhibits RAF-MEK-ERK pathway. She is in the mixed dentition phase and presents significant caries activity, root remains and a history of dental abscess. Extraction of root remains, removal of decayed tissues followed by restorations, professional fluor therapy and guidance on oral hygiene were carried out. Due to the complexity of the patient´s clinical presentation and the proximity of the neurofibroma to the oral cavity, maintaining oral health is important to contribute to general health and avoid possible oral complications that may require more invasive interventions in regions close to the inoperable tumor.
