Resumo: Objective: To perform a clinicopathological analysis of a odontogenic cysts (OC) series. Study Design: Between January 2000 and December 2019, all cases of OC diagnosed in a single institution were analyzed. Clinical data were recorded from the medical charts and the histological slides reviewed. The data were tabulated and analyzed, with distribution of relative and absolute frequencies. Results: Of 7181 cases of oral lesions, 517 (7.2%) were OC. Most patients (54.9%) were women, with a mean age of 31 years and 23 months of sintomatology. The most affected site was the mandible (39.4%). Radicular cyst (28.6%) was the most common OC, followed by dentigerous cyst (26.1%), odontogenic keratocyst (15.3%), paradental cyst (7.2%), residual cyst (3.7%), calcifying odontogenic cyst (2.5%), glandular odontogenic cyst (1.0%), and gingival cyst (0.2%). In 80 cases (15.4%), a diagnosis of OC not otherwise specified was rendered. Correlation between the clinical and histopathological diagnoses was observed in 71.6% of the cases. Conclusion: Although the radicular cyst was the most prevalent OC, odontogenic keratocyst presented a high prevalence. In addition, a high prevalence of OC not otherwise specified indicates the lack of clinical and/or radiographic information to support the diagnosis of a specific OC.
