Resumo: Segmental Odontomaxillary Dysplasia (SOD) is an uncommon disorder often confused with other fibro-osseous diseases. A 32-year-old man, without comorbidities, was referred to our service for evaluation of a bleeding in the region of upper posterior teeth on the right side. Extraoral examination revealed mild facial asymmetry. Intraoral examination showed swelling of the maxilla and the presence of upper deciduous teeth with mobility and gum bleeding, on the right side. In this region, panoramic radiography and computed tomography displayed a large portion of the maxillary bone with ground-glass pattern, inclusion of permanent premolars and canine and reduction of the maxillary sinus. A biopsy was performed and histopathologic examination revealed bone trabeculae with few osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Clinical, imaging and microscopic findings led to the diagnosis of SOD. The deciduous teeth were removed and the patient is being monitored in our service by an interdisciplinary team.
