Resumo: This report aimed to describe eruption timing and sequence of permanent teeth in 4 children with microcephaly on the early stage of mixed dentition. Patients, mean age 7.1 months, two males and two females, with severe microcephaly and neurological manifestations. On intraoral examinations, 3 children showed mandibular teeth erupted earlier than maxillary teeth but one boy, 6 years and 11 months, didn´t have permanent teeth eruption yet. Females were found to mature earlier than males. In 3 children, the sequence of eruption observed was: lower incisors, upper incisors, lower and upper first molars, but one of the girls, 6 years and 10 months, had the upper first premolar started the eruption. These children with microcephaly exhibit a delay and alterations in the sequence of tooth eruption. Currently, these patients are in follow-up for dental development.
