Resumo: Here, we aimed to report two cases of oral pigmentation related to chronic use of chloroquine. The first, a female 48 years old, was complaining about "dry mouth and eyes, and itchy skin". She was diabetic, has systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and was using glibenclamide, gabapentin, and hydroxychloroquine. On physical examination, brownish spots were noted on the back and arm, and a grayish-purple spot on the alveolar ridge and hard palate. The second, a 56-year-old female was complaining of "dry mouth and sores", has arthritis, SLE, and was using gabapentin, and hydroxychloroquine. Intraoral examination revealed a brownish-purple spots on the hard palate and cheek. Both were negative for Addison´s Disease (cortisol and ACTH). Incisional biopsy was requested for the first patient which revealed melanocytes phagocytosed by macrophages. Based on this, the diagnosis of pigmentation from chronic use of chloroquine was reached. Both were advised and are still being monitored.
