Resumo:
Patient W.R., 30 years old, was referred to the Intensive Care Unit where he underwent intubation. He was diagnosed with a head injury following a car accident, and daily glucose and blood tests were performed. He developed bleeding lesions and ulcers on the mucous membranes of the lips and ear area. After a thorough evaluation by the Hospital Dentistry team, an oral hygiene protocol was implemented, starting with sunflower oil for lip lubrication, followed by cleaning the entire oral cavity with gauze and 0.12% chlorhexidine. Due to the ulcers in the oral region, a low-power Laser therapy protocol was used to repair and heal the tissue, consisting of 4 sessions of 6jV, applied on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. After one week of this treatment, there was a significant regression of the lesion.
