Resumo: Follicular lymphoma (FL) is a neoplasm derived from germinal center B cells that usually affects the lymph nodes. This study aims to describe a case series of oral FL. Data was retrospectively retrieved, and clinical, microscopic, immunohistochemistry, molecular, and follow-up status were investigated. Sixteen cases were included. A mean age of 63.8 years (range 37-83 years) and a male predilection were observed. Lesions presented as asymptomatic swellings, more often in the palate and buccal mucosa. Microscopic evaluation depicted the follicular growth pattern with variable amounts of diffuse proliferations. Immunohistochemistry was positive for B-cell markers, CD23 and Bcl2. Single BCL2 translocation was seen in six cases. Two cases were reclassified as triple-hit (MYC, BCL2, and BCL6) high-grade B-cell lymphoma with follicular growth pattern. Two patients deceased, and the two-year overall survival rate achieved 88%. FL affecting the oral cavity is rare, and genetic evaluation is recommended to confirm its diagnosis.
