Resumo: The present study aims to report a clinical case with a diagnosis of aspergillosis associated with a lesion compatible with intermediate-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The patient, female, 41 years old, brazilian, complaining of a pain on the palate and nose with evolution of 4 years, also presenting a diagnosis of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Preoperative exams included, complete blood count, PST and CT of the face prior to the biopsy procedure. Cytopathologic smears and incisional biopsy in two different locations were performed. The histopathological examination concluded the diagnosis of aspergillosis associated with a lesion compatible with mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Additional immunohistochemical study was then performed using P63, CK67, CK7 and CK5/6 that discarded the presence of the neoplasm on the collected samples. Since the clinical suspicion of a relapse from the neoplasia the patient was referred to the regional oncology referral hospital and the outcome is discussed.
