Título: OSSIFYING FIBROMYXOID TUMOR: CASE REPORT OF A RARE SOFT TISSUE NEOPLASM

Resumo: Male, 31 years old, presented asymptomatic edema in the labial mucosa of the anterior mandible, with five years of evolution. Intraoral examination revealed a whitish, well-circumscribed, compressible submucosal tumor mass. Ultrasound examination showed a hypoechoic subcutaneous mass, with an irregular shape and contours, containing variable anechoic loculations, with discreet acoustic reinforcement. Macroscopic examination revealed a solid mass, with a lobulated surface, well circumscribed by a thick, shiny fibrous capsule. Microscopically, a well-circumscribed multinodular mass was observed, separated by fibrous septa or lamellar bone tissue. Lobules composed of uniform round to fusiform cells containing bland nuclei and sparse, clear eosinophilic cytoplasm. Tumor cells arranged in sheets, threads or nests, and less than 2 mitotic figures were found per 10 mm. They were positive for S-100 and vimentin and negative for EMA, p63, CD34, and smooth muscle actin. The diagnosis was ossifying fibromyxoid. One year after there is no sign of recurrence.
