Título: MUCOCUTANEOUS PARACOCCIDIOIDOMYCOSIS WITH EXUBERANT CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 56-year-old man presented with an 8-month history of a painless, crusted skin lesion in the right supercilium. In addition, on oral clinical examination, he presented multiple ulcerated lesions with granular appearance and hemorrhagic points in the lower lip, soft palate, and gingiva, with 3 months of evolution. These lesions were associated with prominent weight loss as a result of dysphagia. His medical history showed previous appointments with a dermatologist and otolaryngologist, without a specific diagnosis. An incisional oral biopsy was performed, and histopathological analysis revealed a granulomatous reaction associated with multiple round structures compatible with P. brasiliensis in Grocott (methenamine silver) staining, and the diagnosis of paracoccidioidomycosis was established. The patient was referred to an infectologist and reported that after fourteen days of itraconazole treatment, there was total remission of oral and skin lesions. The patient remains in treatment and follow-up for 5 months, without clinical evidence of disease.
