Título: PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY AND PLATELET-RICH PLASMA ON TREATMENT OF OSTEONECROSIS IN PATIENT WITH CEMENTO-OSSEOUS DYSPLASIA

Resumo: The aim of the study was to present a clinical case of florid cemento-osseous dysplasia showing post-surgical photodynamic therapy (PDT). Female patient, black, 66 years old, with comorbidities such as hypertension, multiple sclerosis and Graves´ disease, sought the Oral Medicine Service 3 months after the extraction of tooth 46, with edema, pain and fistula in the extraction site associated with bone sequestration. Treatment was started in association with antibiotic therapy resulting in remission of the fistula and resolution. After 2 years of follow-up in good general condition, the patient presented bone exposure in the same region. A new antibiotic therapy was performed, sequestrectomy and application of fibrin-rich plasma (PRF). The postoperative period was performed daily with irrigation of chlorhexidine and PDT to aid in tissue healing. In conclusion, it is essential that the dental surgeon knows the systemic and local diseases that imply potential complications.
