Resumo: A 79-year-old female patient, with history of Hashimoto´s thyroiditis, was complaining of a painless nodule in palate from the past 2 years. Intraoral examination showed a nodule in the center of palate with normal mucosal staining. After incisional biopsy, histological examination revealed an infiltration of heterogeneous neoplastic cells, mostly lymphoid, in a vaguely nodular pattern intersected by dense connective tissue. Immunohistochemical analysis showed positive cells for CD20, BCL2, Lambda and Ki67. The diagnosis was MALT B-cell lymphoma. Patient was referred to a hematologist-oncologist for treatment. Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) is a neoplasm of B cells from the extranodal marginal zone and a non-Hodgkin lymphoma subtype. MALT B-cell lymphoma is associated with autoimmune diseases. A primary oral MALT lymphoma in a patient with Hashimoto's thyroiditis is rare. The literature considers that if diffuse large B-cell lymphoma or thyroid cancer was ruled out, adjuvant therapy will suffice for these patients.
