Título: Pediatric angioleiomyosarcoma of the oral cavity: case report

Resumo: Angioleiomyosarcomas are considered an extremely rare neoplasm when it comes to pediatric patients, with unusual oral manifestation. We report a case of angioleiomyosarcoma affecting a 9 year old boy. Oral examination revealed a pedunculated nodal mass, erythematosus, which was firm in consistency, and occupying the mouth floor. The patient reported local pain and fever for the past five days prior to the first clinical visit, and 6 months history of lesion progression. CT scan evaluation revealed a diffuse radiolucency in the furcation and alveolar ridge of element 84. Patient underwent an excisional biopsy. After the histopathological diagnosis a immunohistochemical analysis, using as markers smooth muscle actin, CD31, Caldesmon, S100, P53, Ki67 concluded to be a high grade angioleyomiosarcoma. The patient was forwarded to the reference children´s oncology hospital and it was chosen for periodical follow-up, for the past 6 months to the date without relapse.
