Resumo: The oral mucosa that is in contact with a removable prosthesis is often subject to various lesions. In this particular rare case, a 67-year-old male presented an oronasal communication resulting from chronic trauma caused by the palatal bar of his partial removable prosthesis. Although he reported no pain, he complained of inconvenience while drinking beverages as he could feel them in his nose. Upon intraoral examination an 8 millimeter perforation was observed in the palatal central area. A Cone-Beam tomography revealed an oronasal communication on the right side without rupture in the area of anterior nasal spine, along with the presence of hyperdensity in the nasal fossa, which was suggestive of rhinolith. Under general anesthesia, a surgical procedure was performed to raise the palatal mucosa, debride and suture the communication area, remove a connective tissue graft, internally suture it over the communication area, reposition the mucoperiosteal flap, and suture it.
