Resumo: A female indigenous patient was diagnosed with parameningeal Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in the right lower third of her face at 2 years old. The patient underwent chemotherapy treatment using the ARTS0431 protocol and received 50.4 Gy of radiotherapy in the right hemiface. Ten years later, she returned to the oncology service with jaw pain and was diagnosed with high-grade Osteosarcoma in the left mandible and floor of the mouth. Extraoral examination revealed an area of bone discontinuity and mobility in her left mandible, along with a hardened swelling in the left mental region. Intraoral examination revealed developmental dental anomalies and poor biofilm control. A multidisciplinary team recommended palliative treatment and the patient died after 7 months. Our report highlights the challenges of managing long-term effects of cancer treatments in young patients, especially in underrepresented communities, and the importance of a coordinated approach to provide the best possible care.
