Resumo: Squamous cell carcinoma is the most frequent malignant neoplasm in the oral cavity, responsible for approximately 90% of the cases of cancers that affect the region. Early diagnosis and interdisciplinary approach are crucial for the treatment outcome, especially in cases the patients at an increased risk of carcinogenesis. In a appointment, during the anamnesis, a 69-year-old female patient, with a main complaint of pain associated with a lip lesion, reported that the lesion changed shape and size rapidly. On physical examination, an ulcerated lesion with a crust was observed on the lower lip. Based on the malignancy hypothesis, an incisional biopsy was performed. The histopathological analysis confirmed the Squamous cell carcinoma diagnostic. The patient was then referred to Head and Neck Surgeon, who performed the surgical treatment. The patient remains under proservation with the doctor and the dental surgeon responsible for the diagnosis.
