Resumo: Hansen's disease is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae, which progresses slowly and results in decreased nerve sensitivity and muscle strength. A 66-year-old male patient was hospitalized to evaluate a gastric ulcer, during which a clinical examination revealed nodules on the face with leonine facies. The dermatology team conducted an incisional biopsy of the chin lesion and confirmed the presence of Multibacillary MH on Pharaco dye, leading to a final diagnosis of Hansen's disease. During the intra-oral examination, sessile nodules of soft consistency were identified, consistent with Hansen's disease manifestation, without any bone involvement or complaints from the patient. Treatment was initiated with polychemotherapy, and the patient is being closely monitored. Given that leprosy is an endemic disease, understanding its manifestations is critical to ensure accurate diagnosis and prompt treatment. This not only helps prevent further contagion but also leads to a better quality of life for the patient.
