Resumo: A 63-year-old white female presented with a complaint of a rapidly growing nodular lesion on the ventral surface of her tongue and the floor of her mouth for the past three months. On intraoral examination, a painless nodular lesion with a sessile base, hardened consistency, precise borders, and partially ulcerated surface was observed. The lesion was approximately 2.5x1.5 cm in size. The patient had a history of pernicious anemia and depression and denied smoking or alcohol consumption. The incisional biopsy showed a myxoid spindle cell neoplasm with a low mitotic index. The immunohistochemical analysis indicated negative staining for alpha-SMA, CD34, S100, desmin, EMA, and MUC-4, and positive staining for Ki67. These results were consistent with the diagnosis of low-grade myxofibrosarcoma. Subsequently, the patient underwent partial glossectomy and excision of the lesion on the floor of the mouth. After a four-month follow-up, no recurrence was detected.
