Resumo: Odontomas are common mixed odontogenic tumors subdivided into compound odontoma and complex odontoma depending on the morphodifferentiation and similarity with normal teeth. Compound odontoma appears as multiple toothlike structures whereas complex odontoma appears as a calcified mass. Odontomas are usually asymptomatic, affect young patients and may be associated with impacted teeth. A 31-year-old female patient, in a routine radiographic examination, presented a radiopaque mass on the crown of the upper left third molar preventing its eruption. After surgical removal of the impacted tooth and associated lesion, histopathological analysis revealed multiple structures consisting of enamel matrix, cementum, tubular dentin, and pulp tissue. The final diagnosis of compound odontoma was obtained. The patient remains under follow-up.
